Paper Wins Best Paper Award at GVSETS 2026
We are proud to announce that our paper, titled “An AI‑Ready Decision Digital Thread (DDT) Schema for Digital Engineering,” received the Best Overall Paper Award at the 2026 Ground Vehicle Systems Engineering & Technology Symposium (GVSETS) on August 11th in Novi, MI, USA.
The paper is authored by Ratna Babu Chinnam, PhD, Alper Murat, PhD, and Satyendra Rana, PhD of DAOSoft / Agile Systems LLC along with Stephen H. Rapp, PhD and Joseph G. O' Bruba, PhD of the US Army Ground Vehicle Systems Center, Michael McGregor Jr. of the U.S. Army Portfolio Acquisition Executive Fires, James E. Bechtel of the U.S. Army PAE Maneuver Ground, and Laura W. Costa of the U.S. Army Maneuver Future Capability Directorate.
The paper proposes a Decision Digital Thread (DDT): a typed graph schema that makes decisions governable by linking framing and scope, structured (including set-based) alternatives, uncertainty and risk, immutable evaluation-run provenance with reviewed evidence, and commitment events with machine-actionable conditions, authorized actions, and outcome feedback.
Additionally, the paper includes an electric pickup range-extension case that demonstrates auditable gates, evidence lineage, and safe AI-agent authority boundaries.
